About The Museum

The Sharjah Science Museum first opened its doors on April 17, 1996.

Why visit the museum?

Exploring science has never been so much fun. The museum offers a distinctive entertainment experience for the whole family in a safe, motivational and educational atmosphere. Here, there’s something for everyone; visitors of all ages can engage in exciting interactive scientific experiments.

Spur your scientific imagination and test your skills and scientific knowledge

With more than 50 interactive exhibits, many attractive programs and plentiful interesting events for children, Sharjah Science Museum is designed to motivate visitors and urge them to embrace innovation and creation. You will be thrilled as you browse the most creative scientific and technological masterpieces of Mankind.

Regardless of your age, the engaging atmosphere will keep you amused throughout your visit. Step into this immersive experience of scientific exploration; engage in hands-on experiments, learn the about laws of nature, thermal physics, physiology and aerodynamics, take part in electricity demonstrations, and explore the hidden secrets and mysteries of space. While engaged in all these activities, you get to test your reactions and discover your own potentials and capabilities.

The museum is located in the Al Abar area on Sheikh Rashid Bin Saqr Al Qasimi Road leading to the Sharjah Broadcasting Authority.
Opening Hours :
Saturday to Thursday 8:00 AM - 8:00 PM
Friday: 4:00 PM - 8:00 PM


The Museum from 16 until further notice: Closed
Timings are subject to change during public holidays and Ramadan. The Museum is closed on the following occasions:
  • 29th Ramadan ( Islamic calendar)
  • First day of Eid Al-Fitr ( Islamic calendar)
  • First day of Eid Al Adha ( Islamic calendar)
Entry Fees to the museum
Children (under 2 years): Free
Children (2-12years): 5.00AED
Adults (13+ years): 10.00AED
Government school trips: 5.00AED each
Private school trips: 5.00AED each
Government school trips (with Workshops): 15.00AED each

Senior (60+): Free
People with Disabilities: Free

The museum entry is free during the following:
