Museums in the Middle East Journal is a biennial publication published by Sharjah Museums Authority. The third issue of this journal covers the theme of Museums and the Digital Experience and is expected to be published in January 2022.
In the ongoing change that museums have faced locally and globally during the pandemic, the roles and responsibilities of museums have evolved to better adapt modes of engagement with communities through more effective digital approaches.
In this process, there has been a constant need for museums to connect with audiences through online platforms, while making their galleries more digitally accessible with minimal physical interaction. For the upcoming journal, we invite submissions to highlight projects, initiatives and programmes related to the digital experience of museums in the Middle East.
