Sharjah Museums with an Emirati Identity design competition

December 2 is the UAE’s national day, on which the memory of the unity is celebrated. Among the celebrations of the UAE’s 50th national day, Sharjah Museums Authority is launching a design competition (Sharjah Museums with an Emirati Identity), with the aim of supporting and developing talents and strengthening national identity. The idea of the competition is to create a special design for the national day to be used on the facades of Sharjah Museums on the National Day, in addition to a prize of 5000 AED for the winner.

Competition Terms & Conditions:
  1. Participants have to either be UAE nationals or residents.
  2. Participants have to be 18 years old or above.
  3. To reflect or demonstrate Emirati identity in the submitted designs. The design may include meaningful pictures and phrases.
  4. The design must be owned by the contestant and used solely for the exclusive purpose of this competition. It should not have previously been posted on any social media platform or used in previous competitions.
  5. Participants may submit a maximum of 2 designs.
  6. Designs must be in high resolution PDF format, and design files must be modifiable in Illustrator programme.
  7. Designs must be submitted in portrait and landscape layouts.
  8. A copy of the ID card, CV and contact numbers should be attached with the design, along with a description of the design.
  9. SMA reserves the right to use the design through any media, for promotional purposes or otherwise, without crediting the participant.

  12. Submissions received after the deadline will be rejected.
  13. The results will be announced on October 20, 2021 through social media platforms. The winner will be contacted to finalize the details and collect the prize.
