Sharjah Heritage Museum first opened its doors in 2005. It has been renovated and re-opened in 2012 in Bait Saeed Al Taweel Al Shamsi, in the Heart of Sharjah.
The museum offers a great chance to engage in the rich heritage of Sharjah and the Emirati culture, with a focus on Sharjah residents’ lifestyle over the past decades. Here, you can learn and get inspired by the deep-rooted Emirati customs and traditions. The museum provides a child-friendly atmosphere, with a series of folklore tales, old sayings and puzzles.
At Sharjah Heritage museum you can explore the diverse environments where Emirati people lived in the past, from the coastal areas to the mountains and agricultural environments. This diversity was naturally reflected in their lifestyle, habits and crafts.
At the museum you can experience the distinctive traits of the Emirati people, their warm hospitality and lifestyle events , such as celebrations and marriage ceremonies, in addition to their knowledge of science in past.
